What are the actual reasons for having hair, apart from the few obvious ones, like it protects our heads from the effects of the sun, our eyebrows stop sweat getting in our eyes, and our lashes protect the eyes from bugs and other small foreign objects getting in them. Not to miss out armpits and pubic areas, this is slightly purposeful as well, since the dry hair in these areas also prevents chafing when we move our arms and legs, but all over body hair and face hair, seriously, it’s not been needed since the invention of clothes and heating. Maybe that’s not strictly true, girls, we don’t get bitten more by bugs because we wear perfume that attracts them, we get bitten because without body hair the bug can land on us and bite without us feeling it, mosquitos are particularly good at this, and its why we get bitten on the legs !!
There, that’s the science bit done, but regardless of this, I hate body hair, and since I see no reason for it being there, I prefer a smooth finish. This however is not a small task, as I seem to have plenty of it and with the exception of expensive and painful permanent methods I have tried every other method I can think of for removing it, wax, just end up sticky, creams just burn my skin and smell bloody awful, epilating, OMG !!! fine on legs, but not on backs of hands and other areas and definitely never try to epilate your face. So, good old shaving it is, as often as needed to keep the fuzz at bay. Obviously, the worst place for hair on a T-girl apart from the backs of her hands, is her face, you see, it never stops growing, hour by hour it’s always coming back with a vengeance. Even when it’s fully and freshly removed with a fresh blade, it shows up dark on skin and is not easy to cover without huge amounts of makeup, not good when you are somewhere warm or out in the summer sun as it just makes your face melt. So, I am taking the plunge and after some small and very easy calculations I have decided to get my face lasered, that’s right, once complete, no more hair, no more shaving and no more mega heavy makeup. I have calculated that this will pay for itself in savings on face razor blades, all in less than 4 years, so as long as I am still here in 2020, all will be good as that’s the breakeven point actually, its probably less than 4 years as I will use a fraction of the amount of makeup that I do at the moment. Wahoo !!!! and an extra 5 minutes a day in bed. But really, the biggest difference for me will actually be the option to use really light foundation, rather than putting it on with a trowel. That said, I have found that mineral powders are actually the best, as layers can be built up just where it’s needed, but there has never been any getting away from the dreaded black shadow. I had the first treatment 4 weeks ago and the second one is due this week, if you have had this done you will know how much it hurts and also that there is no escaping that smell of burning human and hair, but the results are awesome, I already have patches where no hair grows any more, can’t wait for it to be gone completely. Now in contrast to this, I have always wanted to have long hair, but never got more than a few inches, strict parents who would never have allowed it, followed by a full term career in the military saw pay to that idea. Now, sadly at 41 years old, the number of follicles remaining on my head would not probably allow for the best long hair anyway. So a purchased piece it is, also known as a wig. Please note, never refer to a T-Girls' hair as a wig, mine is just my hair, and it is hair, real hair, I just have the ability to change colour, style and length in an instant. What I have learned about hair, is that its costly, don’t buy crap !! if it says ‘Smiffy’s’ on the packet and is available in all colours of the rainbow, and peroxide blond, it will never in a million years look like the girl in the picture. It is for Fancy Dress use only. You can’t wash it, style it, or do anything with it. The only hair that is worth buying is ‘Real Hair’ and this doesn’t come cheap, but you get what you pay for, and if you do, then go and get fitted, most specialist retailers will be by appointment and will advise on colours and styles that will suit you. But at least if you want to be Barbie, with blond hair to your waist then it can look real. I have several colours and styles but only really two that I use all the time. One is more a day time one, and one for nights out, because let’s face it, smart and practical is good for the day time but on a night out, longer and styled is what I really want. So, to sum up, don’t buy cheap fake hair, invest well in real hair in usable styles and colours that suit your skin tone, oh yeah, and second treatment on my face has now been completed, 52 shots of Laser should kill off a significant number of follicles, and that leaves just 4 more treatments to go. That’s 4 more times I need to get my face burned off, but you know what, for me, it will be so worth it.
